Interview by Yosef Shidler – play presented by winning team shliach.
The high spirits that were felt at ‘Camp Gan Yisroel New York’ during the past few days reached their peak at the melave malka on motzei shabbos, the central event of ‘Yarchei Kallah’ which was founded thirty years ago in memory of the Rebbe’s father.
Gedolim, Rabbonim, Roshei Yeshivot, and mashpi’im graced the evening with their presence and words of Torah, while hundreds of tmimim and Anash listened intently, amazed at the scene which had been organised by Rabbi Avraham Shem Tov, who heads the international ‘Agudas Chassidei Chabad’.
The evening was competently chaired by Rabbi Sholom Ber Lipskar, shliach in Bal Harbor Florida. Dvar Malchus was said by Rabbi Yoel Cohen, the Rebbe’s ‘chozer’ and words of blessing were spoken by Rabbi Shem Tov, Rabbi Lipa Shapira, Rabbi Yitzchak Yehuda Yuroslavski and Rabbi Mordechai Shmuel Askenazi, Rabbi of Kfar Chabad.
Words of halacha and pilpul were heard by Rabbi Dov Brisman and Rabbi Chanania Yosef Aisenbach, Rosh Yeshiva of chabad in Bnei Brak.
At this very moment, the Torah event of the international ‘Yarchei Kallah’ is taking place in the large shul of ‘Gan Yisroel New York’ with the participation of many gedolim, Rabbonim, Roshei Yeshivot, and mashpi’im from around the world.
Our COL team on the scene are broadcasting the event live , in co-operation with the virtual team of Gan Yisroel: Hershi Chitrik and Zalman Shapira.

Despite the massive blackout, the 30th annual Yarchei Kalla program @ Gan Yisroel, NY which this year has over 30 Rabbonim, Mashpiim, Roshei Yeshivos & Shluchim from around the world continued.
Thanks to good olde tea light candles, battery powered lanterns and the bright beams from a couple of cars, the learning and discussions in Torah did not stop.
As we finished typing this article @ 9:04pm EST, the lights went back on and loud cheering and applause was heard throughout the grounds of Gan Yisroel.

(T.T.T.O. ay yai yai)
A Shliach moves into a town
He’s lonely with no one around
He feels like he’s distant from his Rebbe
His vision beginning to fade
But then there’s a Jew at his door
Who’s lost and is searching for more
The Shliach now tells him about his Rebbe
Another çñéã he’s made
As a Shliach he knows
That he’s not for himself
His entire life’s focus is for someone else
Teaching all Jews the Rebbe is there
And for his children he truly does care (x2)
Now we know that our Hiskashrus
is not by staying nearby
Rather we strive to teach all Yidden
the Rebbe loves them so

It’s Friday night in camp the hour is already late,
Mendel’s tired, but there’s something telling him to wait.
His counselor’s sitting at his side,
A Hachloto he asks him to decide.
Mendel starts to speak,
His feelings he just cannot hide.
To learn the Rebbe’s teachings,
And make them part of me,
To Daven every word right from the heart
To live as a true Chossid
Striving hard to be,
Everything that the Rebbe wants of me.
Alma Mater Winning Team of Shliach
(Original tune by winning General Simi)
A lonely stray tear drop
From his eye escapes
Betraying the calm look on his face
It seems like just yesterday camp only started
And now it’s time to say goodbye
No matter how many
Times in the past
That I’ve had to say farewell
It never gets easier it only gets harder
Harder to say goodbye
Now I know why Chassidim never say
Chassidim never say goodbye
Wherever we go we’re all together
Together in spirit and soul (x2)
Now as the summer approaches the end
The last day is right around the bend
As hard as I try I just cannot help it
I just cannot help but cry
Now I know…
Alma Mater Team of Chossid
T.T.T.O. Niggun Shabbos V’Yom Tov
Luggage piled up in the hall,
I didn’t want to go at all.
But to the Rebbe’s camp, my parents sent me.
From the moment I arrived,
Something touched me deep inside.
Now Gan Yisroel, you’re where I want to be.
More than pictures on the wall,
I close my eyes and see it all
The Rebbe has come to camp – his children to see.
Oh Gan Yisroel, the camp I love and hold so dear
Oh Gan Yisroel, I feel the Rebbe’s really here.
Still everyday I yearn for a special dollar of my own,
Still I wish to go into Yechidus with the Rebbe all alone.
How I’m dreaming of the day when I wake up to see
The Rebbe’s come to camp – to visit me

As the siren went off signaling the end of learning classes, hundreds of
visitors began streaming in to the beautiful grounds of Gan Yisroel, NY
for the summers second visiting day. The visitors arrived from all over
the continent and around the world, including many prominent Shluchim
and former Head Staff of Gan Yisroel.
While the delighted parents reunited with the Campers, young children
were seen sprinting towards the carnival, which featured loads of
thrilling rides. As many parents took campers off grounds to nearby
Pizza Shops, Shoprite and other venues, many others decided to spend
their afternoon on the grounds of CGI.
Throughout the day the Canteen employees worked fulltime, accommodating
the hundreds of parents and children who came to taste the fine foods.
Many items, including delicious pizza, ice-cream and a large variety of
nosh were sold, as well as a special barbecue which featured appetizing
hotdogs, burgers, and pastrami sandwiches.
In the lobby, crowds of people gathered to watch a special preview of
the 5763 Camp Video, showing special scenes of Color War. Parents stood
patiently by the front desk, waiting to order exclusive Camp caps,
yarmulkes as well as the Camp video. The Shul also attracted the
attention of many proud parents who received lots of Nachas as they took
note of their son’s achievements in Mishnayos Baal Peh.
For the Campers whose parents unfortunately couldn’t visit, a special
hike was arranged with the survival director.
Camp caretaker Eric Taylor was busy all day long directing both
vehicular and pedestrian traffic across the busy Parksville road.
As visiting day was coming to an end, smiling campers were seen
schlepping bags and bags of nosh & other goodies, back from their day
out of camp.
Visiting Day will begin IY”H at 12:00PM EST (city time), and conclude at 7:00PM EST (city time)
Please do not arrive earlier, or bring back your children later than the specified times.
Those who wish to take their children out of camp grounds must sign them out in the administrative office.
Girls over the age of 12 should not come on to camp grounds, and will be asked to remain outside.
Friday Afternoon: After bedside inspection, campers wearing their sparkling clean Shabbos clothes, headed towards their learning classes. New powerful florescent lighting installed in the main shul which is located is the camp square. The new eight fixtures which have been installed by Rabbis Yossie & Shloime Futerfases have a total output 1280 watts, which is an addition to the original existing fixtures. Now that the shul is much brighter I can read the Mar’eh Mekoimois foot notes said one Staff member who wishes to remain anonyms. This is the first of many upgrades to the camp buildings said Rabbi Futerfas. According to camp engineer Eric Taylor there are plans of adding an elaborate cable car system that will shuttle campers to the hill and will be powered by the unionized Parksville local 768. CGI was unable to verify these plans since Mr. Taylor hasent held a pencil in 34 years.
Campers and Staff were trembling in anticipation, as all gathered by the
Flagpole, for the great announcement, expected after three great days
of the 5763 Hiskashrus War. Predictions, calculations, reckonings and
even just simple guesses were overheard throughout the day, as the time
neared for the great moment of truth.
Teams Chosid and Shliach gathered, each team being their awesome
Generals. The judges arrived. A tremor passed through everyone as the
Judges prepared to announce the
Grand winners. The
Judges simultaneously called out the winners. Under the talented
Leadership of Simi Morgenstern, TEAM SHLIACH WON HISKASHRUS WAR 5763.
The second day of color war continued with a bang, everybody looking forward to the Grand Sing at night. Campers woke up especially early to learn and complete their quotas for Mishnayos Baal Peh, which they recited all day long to the tayere Staff. The day was filled with smashing Davening, Benching, fun activities and races in the afternoon, including a very special team time for both teams to learn their Alma Maters. Throughout the day staff members worked very hard on setting up the Shul. Both teams prepared dazzling props and backdrops, as well as striking costumes featuring their themes.
As night began to descend, all campers got dressed up into their costumes. The team of Chosid dressed up like Pirates, and the team of Shliach dressed up like Poilishe Chasidim.
After each team was fully dressed, they each lined up in formation, and then were dismissed to the Shul. Both teams entered the Shul and settled themselves down to their teams amazing backdrops.
Campers began with their cheers, after some time the cheer slowly changed to “Hear come the judges” as the grand judges made their entry, each one outfitted in a judges robe and wig.
The time arrived for both generals to make their grand entry. To the background of a fierce storm in the ocean, Pirate Chief General Yehudah Stern managed to pull him self to safety, after nearly being overcome by the great waves. To the cheers and encouragement of his fellow pirates, he stood up and addressed them.
Subsequently General Simi Morgenstern made his grand entry, over the Williamsburg Bridge, as a Poilishe Rebbe. He headed towards the “Tisch” and began addressing his crowd of Chasidim.
Judge Yoelish Ganz than started a Nigun, both teams joined in with a smashing Chayus. Following the Nigun both teams presented their theme songs. Team Chosid presented their song first, composed by Eli Rosenfeld and preformed under the direction of Levi Gansburg. Team Shliach followed afterwards with their theme song.
The program continued with the theme speech. The speech explained the theme of the team and how the costumes are connected to it. Zev Allision spoke for team Chosid and Moishe Denberg spoke team Shliach.
The presentation of the Alma Maters began. Team Chosid proceeded, singing a very beautiful song, written by Eli Rosenfeld. Team Shliach followed, singing another beautiful song, featuring an original tune by General Simi Morgenstern. Each team then sang their Hebrew song, everyone singing with great enthusiasm. The Campers continued on singing on Lebidike Nigunim, creating an incredible atmosphere.
Amid all the singing, everyone stopped to hear an inspiring speech from Camp Executive Director Rabbi Avrohom Shemtov. Rabbi Shemtov spoke about the life of a Chosid and Shliach, how it is not just a Color War theme, rather it should be continued in everyone’s homes, throughout the year.
Laughter resounded off the walls of the Shul, as Itche Itkin and Yanky Denberg recited the lyrics of their very own comedy song. Itche and Yanky than continued on recited their Grammen for team Shliach; the campers were already falling off their seats from amusement. Getzy Markowitz continued, reciting side-splitting Grammens for the team Chosid.
The Shul soon filled up with hundreds of sincere young voices, davening the last Maariv of Hiskashrus War 5763. After singing many more Nigunim and Camp songs the Campers went to sleep enthused with Chayus and exited to find out the results tomorrow…

The second play will begin tonight-Monday @ lerech 10:15pm
Before a record breaking audience in camp and around the world, via the
exclusive CGI Webcam, hundreds in camp and around the world viewed the
Grand Hiskashrus War Plays.
Performing first was the team of Chosid. They preformed a wonderful play
about a young man who ventured out into the business world. As a result
of his actions he got his company into a lot of trouble. This play was
a parable onto the life of a Chosid how everything that he does and the
way he conducts himself, has an effect on everything.
Following the first play everyone went to the dining room for supper.
They returned, sat down and got ready to watch the second play of the
team of Shliach.
The play was about two young men who escape the orphanage and go into
the woods. By chance they meet the prime minister and conspire to
overthrow the evil king. After overthrowing the king the prime minister
takes over the power. He knighted his young helpers and told them not to stay in the capital and benefit, rather they must go out and spread
the message of fairness and liberty throughout the provinces. The play
gave out the message that every single Chosid can’t just sit at home;
rather he must travel on Shlichus to bring the Geula closer.
Both plays were performed beautifully, featuring amazing backdrops which
were painstakingly prepared throughout the day. Everyone, including a
worldwide audience on the Gan Yisroel exclusive Webcam enjoyed yet
another successful series of Grand plays in Camp Gan Yisroel.
On Tuesday night, exclusive coverage of the 5763 Hiskashrus War Grand
Sing will be shown on the Camp Gan Yisroel Webcam so make sure to Tune
